Just three miles away from Gorran Haven you will find Mevagissey, an attractive harbour town with colourful fishing boats, interesting shops, old ‘smugglers’ pubs and restaurants. Gorran Haven is also a gateway to the beautiful Roseland Peninsula with the picture perfect coastal havens of Portloe, Portscatho, St Just and St Mawes, which is a popular destination for yacht sailors.
If you like sightseeing you should check out the world famous Eden Project which is a 30-minute drive from the hotel; or a little closer to home the magnificent Lost Gardens of Heligan. Or why not try our Garden breaks, with a stay at The Llwanroc hotel and tickets to one or both of Eden or Heligan. Click here for details.
If you want to explore wider, then Cornwall has many other beautiful viewpoints, quaint villages, fine beaches and attractions to visit.
If you fancy a round of golf while you’re here there are many fine golf courses in Cornwall to swing a club on. Our closest golf course is the much loved Porthpean Golf Club. Just 40 minutes away is St Mellion Golf Course with fairways and greens designed by Jack Nicklaus. Trevose Golf Course near Padstow is also worth a special trip for great scenic golfing.
Maybe sailing is your thing. In the area there is everything from dinghy sailing for beginners to yacht sailing charters for more experienced sailors. If you have a taste for adventure you can try surfing, coasteering, kayaking, mountain biking or ride Europe’s longest zip wire through a disused quarry – Cornwall has many activities to excite and enthral.
Of course for most people it’s enough to get out and walk across the cliff tops, round coves and across beaches on the South West Coast Path which passes straight through the village.
At the Llawnroc you can play or relax as hard as you choose. Please ask – we are only too happy to advise and help you make the most of your visit to Cornwall. We can also pre-book tickets for some attractions and activities.
